The Union of Ecologists “Natyra”- Struga wins international grant for the creation of the Eco Patrol digital platform!

The Union of Ecologists “Natyra” – Struga is proud to announce that it has been awarded support through the international Response Hub Innovation Grant, funded by the European Fund for the Balkans (EFB).

The grant will support the implementation of the innovative project “Eco Patrol – A Digital Platform for Real-Time Environmental Reporting and Response”, which aims to improve environmental protection through the use of digital technology and active citizen participation.

Eco Patrol will be developed as a mobile application that enables citizens to quickly and easily report environmental problems such as illegal waste dumping, open burning, air pollution, water pollution, and other forms of environmental degradation. Reports will include photographs and geolocation data, allowing responsible institutions and environmental organizations to identify and respond to issues more efficiently.

A key innovation of the platform is its ability to connect citizens, municipal services, and environmental organizations within a single digital ecosystem. Through real-time reporting and communication, Eco Patrol will contribute to faster responses, greater transparency, and stronger community engagement in environmental protection.

The project will be implemented over a five-month period by the Union of Ecologists “Natyra”. During the pilot phase, a functional version of the application will be developed, tested with users, and evaluated for future expansion.

This grant represents an important recognition of the work that Natyra has carried out for many years in the field of environmental protection, civic participation, and sustainable development. It also provides an opportunity to introduce a practical and scalable solution that can benefit communities across North Macedonia and beyond.
