Open Gov Week 2026 “Open Government in Practice: Partnership, Participation and Trust”

As part of Open Gov Week 2026, the Assembly Channel will feature a week-long programme dedicated to promoting open, transparent, and accountable governance. The programme will be placed in the wider context of North Macedonia’s sixth National Action Plan for Open Government and the Assembly’s third Open Parliament Action Plan.

During the week, statements, interviews, and debate programmes on open governance, institutional transparency, citizen participation, and trust-building will be broadcast.

The programme begins on Monday (May 18), when MPs will share statements on open government during the country wide Parliamentary Caravan visiting a number of universities in different cities of the country.

On Tuesday (May 19), the Secretary General of the Assembly, Ms. Marina Dimovska, will deliver a statement on behalf of OGP Week highlighting Parliament’s commitments in this direction.

On Wednesday (20 May), the Minister of Public Administration, Mr. Goran Minchev, will give an interview to the Assembly TV Channel on the Government’s commitments to openness, followed on Thursday (21 May) by the President of the Assembly, Mr. Afrim Gashi, who scheduled to deliver an address.

The week will conclude on Friday (May 22) with a TV debate on the topic “Open Government in Practice: Partnership, Participation and Trust”, featuring:

  • Gordana Gapikj-Dimitrovska, State Advisor at the Ministry of Public Administration and National Coordinator for the Open Government Partnership
  • German Filkov, President of the Center for Civil Communications and Co-Chair of the OGP Council
  • Dance Danilovska-Bajdevska, Program Director at the Metamorphosis Foundation and Coordinator of the CSO Network for OGP
  • Zlatko Atanasov, Head of the Parliamentary Institute, Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia

The debate will focus on the partnership between institutions and civil society, citizen participation in policymaking, trust-building, lessons learned, and future priorities for promoting open and inclusive governance.

The Parliament Support Programme supports the Assembly in advancing openness, transparency, citizen participation and institutional accountability, including through activities that help make parliamentary work more visible and accessible to citizens.
