Short description of the organization

Polio Plus is a CSO which actively works on the fulfilment of human rights of the citizens with disabilities and creating a society with equal opportunities for all. Its mission is achieved via advocacy for change and promotion of legislation, promotion of inclusive education and employment, independent living of the people with disabilities, citizen participation, as well as public awareness-raising.

Constituents

The people with disabilities, organizations of people with disabilities, parents of children with disabilities, different social stakeholders, CSOs at international regional, national and local level.

Results

  • Active participation and contribution in the adoption of new legislation and policies;
  • Increased visibility and improved public awareness about disability issues;
  • Undertaken activities for capacity building of Polio Plus members.
