Short description of the organization
The Research Institute on Social Development – RESIS is a non-governmental organization whose primary goal is to promote the concept of social development focusing on the citizens and especially marginalized groups, in order to build a more just society that provides equal opportunities for progress to all. RESIS was founded in 2017 as a result of the growing need for competent social research. The RESIS team is comprised of leading experts in the field of sociology, media and communication studies, political studies, economy and statistics.

Results
- Overview of the situation and determined potentials and needs of CSOs at local level from the aspect of articulation of the interests of their constituencies in the media and broader in the public area;
- Developed Strategy for Networking and Functional Communication between the local CSOs and their constituencies on one hand, and the institutions, bodies and networks in charge of media and media policies, on the other hand;
- Developed tools for the CSOs at local level to critically assess the media contents and policies and to more efficiently articulate the interests of the constituencies in the public sphere;
- Developed competencies of CSOs at local level to critically assess the media contents and media policies;
- Increased level of knowledge and awareness with the regulatory body (AAAVMU), the Media Literacy Network and other bodies and institutions on the opinions and needs of CSOs at local level and their constituencies;
- New media policies proposed in the direction of protection of the citizens’ interests in the media area and the public area in a broader sense;
- Mechanisms created (network of audience councils) on the impact of the CSOs at local level and the various groups that they represent on the media policies and contents and the public area in a broader sense;
- Directions set for the future cooperation between the local CSOs, regulatory body (AAAVMU), Media Literacy Network, other bodies and institutions in charge;
- Increased awareness about the participation and influence of the civil society on the media policies and contents and the public sphere in a broader sense.
