Short description of the organization

The Council of Media Ethics of Macedonia (CMEM) is a body of self-regulation of the media that stands for advancement, protection and protection of professional standards and ethics in the media in RNM. The goal of CMEM is to contribute to the protection and promotion of the freedom of speech and freedom of work of the media that will provide quality information for the informed and involved public. CMEM has 47 members from the media and media associations, jointly based on the principle of free will. The CMEM Press Complaints Commission reviews all press complaints related to the violation of professional and ethical standards in the print (print and news agencies), electronic (TV and radio) and the Internet. In the past years, the European Commission has on a couple of occasions noted the importance of CMEM when it comes to the professionalization of media.

Media (editors, publishers and media owners); Assembly members; journalists and media workers; associations of journalists; students of journalism and communications; Government, public institutions and regulatory bodies, judiciary and lawyers; CSOs; international organizations; citizens.

Results

  • Better knowledge of the CMEM bodies and membership with the self-sustainability practices;
  • Increased involvement of the CMEM members in the self-sustainability planning process;
  • Improvement of CMEM’s planning capacity for self-sustainability;
  • Increased inclusion and participation of CMEM membership in the planning of the strategic development of the organization;
  • Improved coordination and connection of CMEM’s bodies and membership in order to effectively implement the Strategic Plan.
