Climate Bridge Network

The Climate Bridges Network is an expanding alliance that brings together civil society organizations, research institutions, public authorities, and social enterprises from across Southeastern Europe, all dedicated to advancing climate action. Focused primarily on the Western Balkan region, the Network provides a platform for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and coordinated efforts toward achieving sustainable climate solutions.

The Network is growing steadily, with currently 83 member organizations from 10 countries, and it continues to evolve as a key player in shaping the region’s climate future. By uniting diverse stakeholders, we are able to address common environmental challenges, share innovative practices, and amplify the impact of local climate initiatives.

In a region where environmental degradation, fragmented policies, and limited coordination have often hindered climate progress, the Climate Bridges Network aims to bridge these gaps. By fostering transnational cooperation and facilitating collaboration across borders, we help to close the gap between local actions and broader regional strategies. This is crucial in addressing the interconnected issues of decarbonization, pollution reduction, biodiversity protection, and sustainable development.

The Network’s main goal is to support the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans, along with other international climate frameworks, by empowering local actors to take collective action. Through regular exchange of ideas, joint advocacy, and capacity-building initiatives, we work to strengthen the regional climate movement and help shape policy solutions that reflect the diverse needs and priorities of the region. The Network is establishing a robust governance structure to ensure transparent decision-making, clear roles and responsibilities, and effective coordination among members. This structure supports our long-term sustainability and ability to implement climate actions collectively.

At its core, the Climate Bridges Network is about creating an inclusive, collaborative space where organizations can come together to tackle climate change in a way that is equitable, sustainable, and locally driven. Our members play a central role in shaping the direction of the Network, making it a dynamic and adaptable force for change in Southeastern Europe.
