Renewable Energy Sources training held at Up Hub Strumica
Promo Idea Strumica organised a four-day training on “Renewable Energy Sources” from 9 to 12 September 2026 at Education Centre Up Hub Strumica, North Macedonia. The activity took place within the Green Pulse Cross-Border Pact (G-PACT) project, supporting greater understanding of renewable energy and responsible energy use.
The programme introduced participants to energy fundamentals, the journey of electricity from generation to consumers, and the difference between power and energy. Sessions then explored solar, wind and hydropower, the variability of renewable generation, and the role of batteries, pumped hydro and grid flexibility in balancing electricity supply and demand.
A dedicated part of the training examined electricity demand from artificial intelligence, streaming, cloud services and data centres. These topics connected energy literacy with everyday digital activities and encouraged discussion about the relationship between technology and energy consumption.
The final day focused on energy efficiency, smart meters, automation, energy storage and electric vehicle charging. Participants also explored energy-related careers, relevant skills and ideas for a school energy project.
The training combined presentations, practical examples, quizzes and discussions. Participant wrap-up sessions on the third and fourth days provided opportunities to summarise key lessons, share reflections and discuss how the knowledge could be applied in everyday life.
The Green Pulse Cross-Border Pact (G-PACT) project is co-funded by the European Union through the Interreg VI-A IPA Bulgaria–North Macedonia Programme 2021–2027.
