CfP: ETH Zurich Innovate Cities and Infrastructure Grants (Deadline: 15 November)

Target Group: Consortia led by an eligible professor, research group leader or senior scientist from an ETH Domain institution, working with at least one legally registered non-academic practice partner from an eligible country. Practice partners may include public institutions, private companies and civil society organisations.

Aim: To support interdisciplinary and practice-oriented research developing innovative solutions for sustainable urban development, resilient infrastructure and effective local governance. Projects may address areas including spatial planning, mobility, energy, water, infrastructure financing, urban governance, climate protection and citizen participation.

Countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, Egypt, Ghana, Hungary, Indonesia, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Morocco, North Macedonia, Peru, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.

Amount: Urban Research Grants of CHF 30,000–350,000 and Urban Pilot Grants of up to CHF 30,000. Research Grants require matching funds equivalent to at least 50% of the requested amount, reduced to 30% for selected eligible EU Member States. No matching funds are required for Pilot Grants.

Duration: Up to 24 months for Urban Research Grants and up to 12 months for Urban Pilot Grants.

Deadline: 15 November 2026.
