2026 OECD Global Forum on Building Trust and Reinforcing Democracy (12-13 October, Paris)

The 2026 OECD Global Forum on Building Trust and Reinforcing Democracy, taking place on 12–13 October in Paris, will focus on how democratic governments can become more responsive and resilient in a period of rapid change and disruption. Under the theme “Government Unstuck: Resilient Democracies in a Fast-Changing World,” the Forum will address declining public trust, citizens’ perceptions that they lack a meaningful voice in decision-making, and governments’ difficulties in translating complex and long-term policy agendas into tangible results. Discussions will explore how governments can transform the way they operate while maintaining stability and strengthening democratic institutions and wider societal resilience. Building on the OECD’s Government Unstuck agenda, the Forum will provide a platform to examine both government performance and the role of public institutions in nurturing resilient democratic societies.
