SHORT DESCRIPTION OF the ORGANIZATION

“Rural Coalition Kumanovo” is an umbrella organization of 40 local associations that are active in the agricultural and rural development sectors. As a recognizable and influential organization it covers more segments of action starting from grassroot activities and initiatives to researches, monitoring of the situation in the sector, preparing public policy documents, while also including the monitoring of local and national public policies.

It stands for creating competitive and sustainable rural environments with improved socio-economic conditions for quality life by building the capacities of local associations direct support, but also contribution to equitable regional development by participation in the creation of local and national policies for agriculture and rural development.

Gender equality, inclusion of ethnic minorities, young, but also vulnerable categories of citizens are the horizontal themes to which the Coalition also pays attention.

CONSTITUENTS

The Rural Coalition is based on the principle of expressed interest by other CSOs to participate in the work and jointly build views protecting the interests of the membership in the individual associations. There are regular contacts with partner associations, which are from the agriculture and rural development sectors at the moment, 40 in total and with 17 of them there has been a special social platform singed for joint cooperation and work.

The family agricultural economies in the rural environments are also part of the constituents of the organization, especially when focusing on the young and women as marginalized groups when it comes to the sector agriculture and rural development. The inhabitants of the rural environments, but also the institutions in the sector, especially the Ministry of Agriculture at a long-term level when it comes to policies are also part of the constituents, and because it is also active at local level, the municipalities are very often constituents.

RESULTS

  • Determined strategic development directions of the Coalition for the 2021-2025 period;
  • Financially built and stable Coalition;
  • Functional and built capacities of the management structures of the organization;
  • Strengthened capacities of the associations that are Coalition members;
  • Influential and recognizable Coalition to the broader public.
