CONSTITUENTS

The target groups in this action are direct and indirect.

The direct target group are the people who work in the municipal councils for prevention of children’s delinquency.

Indirect target group are the children, other CSOs, state institutions and broader public.

PREVENTION OF CHILDREN’S DELIQUENCY

BACKGROUND

In the Republic of North Macedonia, there are municipal councils for prevention of minors’ delinquency only in 18 municipalities, and part of them are non-functional, albeit established. The program preparation is a formal obligation of the bodies in charge, but the data from the local level, which will be the subject of analysis in this project will enable targeting the most frequent risk factors in the specific local community. Therefore, four planning regions have been covered, in order to obtain more realistic data and an image of what happens in the area of children’s delinquency and the process of its prevention.

GOALS AND RESULTS

Goal: Decreasing children’s delinquency.

Objective: Mapping the local risks for occurrence of children’s delinquency and improvement of the institutional climate.

RESULTS

  1. Identified risks for children’s delinquency in four planning regions: Skopje, Southwest, Polog and Vardar;
  2. Prepared publication with a summary analysis of the implemented research;
  3. Functionality of the Councils for Prevention of Children’s Delinquency;
  4. Prepared pilot program for prevention of children’s delinquency for 2021-2022;
  5. Prepared interactive map for presentation of the factors for children’s delinquency.

ACTIVITIES

  1. Determining the research methodology;
  2. Preparation of questionnaires;
  3. Conducting semi-structured interviews with directors of centres for social work (CRS), high school principals (gymnasiums and vocational high schools) and sectors for internal affairs and signed MoUs with four principals for Centres for Social Works;
  4. Collection, selection, processing and drafting conclusions from the obtained data;
  5. Preparing info graphs and distribution of the publication to all Centres for Social Work;
  6. Established cooperation with the Councils for Prevention of Children’s Delinquency and preparation of a model rulebook for the Councils for Prevention of Children’s Delinquency
  7. Comparative analysis of programs for prevention of children’s delinquency;
  8. Analysis of relevant international documents;
  9. Draft pilot program for prevention of children’s delinquency;
  10. Presentation of the pilot program for prevention of children’s delinquency via the web page and social media and sending to the relevant institutions;
  11. Summarizing the publication data.
