CONSTITUENTS
The first group of constituents are all citizens of the Roma community in the Municipality of Kochani.
The second group of constituents are CSOs, the urban community, the Municipality of Kochani and the Communal Public Enterprise.

Healthy living environment is our responsibility – let us show it in action
BACKGROUND
First component: raising the awareness with the citizens of the Roma community to actively participate in initiatives for protection of the environment, but also raising the awareness about bigger responsibility and cultured behavior when it comes to the environment.
Second component: building cooperation with the local authorities and all other active stakeholders in the community in order to undertake specific measures that are directed to improvement of the environment, zero tolerance for landfills, more serious approach and improvement of the public services in the part of public hygiene and healthy environment.
GOALS AND RESULTS
Goal:
Raising the awareness of the Roma community and the responsibility of the local authorities in the Municipality of Kochani on healthy and clean environment in mid- and long period.
Objectives:
- Raising the awareness of the citizens on the rights and obligations for healthy environment in their communities and its proper maintenance and promotion;
- Community capacity building in order to undertake initiatives and specific measures for better living environment;
- Strengthening the capacities of the local population for active advocacy and partnership building with the local authorities in order to work together and have improved communication when resolving the problems in the environment part.
RESULTS
- With the citizens of the Roma community in the Municipality of Kochani there is an increased awareness and interest in maintaining and promoting the living environment in the community;
- Roma citizens from the Municipality of Kochani show increased interest in undertaking measures and actions to clean and maintain the healthy living environment in the community;
- The Roma community citizens in the Municipality of Kochani have improved capacities to advocate the community, having active communication, show interest in participating in joint projects and initiatives on community problems;
- Preparing a 2021-2023 short-term action plan for protection of the living environment in the Roma communities in cooperation with the Municipality of Kochani and the local communal enterprise.
ACTIVITIES
- Organizing two educational workshops for awareness raising, the rights and responsibilities in the process of protection and promotion of the environment in the Roma community in Kochani;
- Organizing a two-day training for 20 participants – citizens, members of local CSOs and activists for joint action on the topic of: joint rapid assessment and stakeholder analysis;
- Organizing two environmental actions with massive participation of the citizens of the Roma community in Kochani, with the participation of representatives of the Municipality of Kochani and the communal enterprise with equipment and vehicles;
- Organizing two focus groups with 10 persons each (citizens of the Roma community, activists and local authorities representatives), to prepare a short-term action plan on the living environment of the Roma community in the Municipality of Kochani.
