The first group of constituents are textile industry workers.

The second group of constituents are state institutions (State Labor Inspectorate); CSOs and the business sector.

Economic and social rights of the textile workers

BACKGROUND

Activities in the project are directed to promotion, affirmation and protection of the economic and social rights and interests of the workers in the textile industry in order to fulfil their rights guaranteed by the Constitution, laws, collective agreements and other regulations.

GOALS AND RESULTS

Goal:

Labor and legal position of the textile workers in accordance with the Law and collective agreements.

Objectives

CSO initiative to respect and fulfil the labor rights in the textile industry.

RESULTS                                   

  • Increased cooperation among CSOs, state institutions and business sector;
  • Increased degree of education of women on their labor rights;
  • Increased number of identified irregularities and not following the Law on Labor Relations;
  • Increased number of appeals to the State Labor Inspectorate;
  • Increased number of decisions made in the interest of the textile workers.

ACTIVITIES                 

  1. Conducting a survey and summarizing the results on the degree of information that the textile workers have on their rights;
  2. Preparing an analysis;
  3. Organizing a public debate “How much do we know about labor rights”;
  4. Organizing a workshop “Textile worker at the labor market”;
  5. Submitting proposals and recommendations for changing and amending the Textile Industry General Collective Agreement according to the new legislative changes;
  6. Submitting appeals to the State Labor Inspectorate on violating labor rights;
  7. Creation and distribution of an Informative Newsletter;
  8. Opening a web page of the Women Organization Lozovo.
