CONSTITUENTS
ZEUKSTRITON is an association whose constituents are first of all the young, working in order to improve their knowledge and possibilities that directly contributes to the development of the community.
The CSO also works within the local communities in strong partnership with the local governments, schools and local businesses.
At regional and national level, the organization channels its work to all CSOs working in the area of environment, especially those who recognize the eco-tourism as an important branch of the development needed.

The Youth for Mavrovo
BACKGROUND
As a developing country, North Macedonia does not prioritize the local development and green policies via tourism and allocates little or no budget funds for eco-initiatives that can bring real changes for the young people in the country. On the other hand, a series of studies of smaller and bigger eco-events have shown that there is capacity to attract a big number of young people to work on their future by creating innovative solutions. Mavrovo Rostusha is a municipality known for the big percentage of emigration of the young people, who go abroad now being able to find job possibilities in their home area. The project therefore aims to keep the attention of the young people from the region for the possibilities for business development and innovative solutions that will develop eco-tourism, helping the young people discover their potential and the potential of their home area.
First of all, the project aims to improve the tourist offer, taking into consideration the competencies of the municipality and stimulate the local development by engaging the young people in the eco-tourism and sport, creating new possibilities for them. The project will develop the skills of the local youth by increasing their chances to get employed in the region. We can see that the activities contributing to local economic development are the most efficient in creating sustainable possibilities for the local population. The local development via tourism and sport is important to build skills of the local communities which are relevant for the environment and local context.
GOALS AND RESULTS
Goal: The main goal of the project is to support the local development and youth employment by building a sustainable tourist product made by outdoor sports in order to improve the quality of life, protect the environment and create new possibilities for the young people in the region. This is a pilot project that will take place on three locations: Mavrovo-Rostusha, Galichnik and Lazaropole in order to improve the national offer for eco-tourism in the coming years.
Objective: The objective of this project is to increase the eco-tourism offer in order to improve youth engagement and increase the youth employment in Mavrovo and Rostusha.
RESULTS
- Increased regional development via eco-tourism and joining youth interests and youth innovation;
- More visible potentials of healthy and clean environment which will contribute to better life of the young people in the region;
- Improved cooperation between the municipality and the youth in order to develop eco-tourism and respond to the needs and rights of the young people from the region.
ACTIVITIES
- Creating a broad partnership for eco-tourism development;
- Project launching and introductory meeting;
- Support of three innovative business plans for eco-tourism development that will include youth engagement and youth initiatives;
- “Promotion campaign”;
- Creating a short video to promote eco-tourism and outdoor sports in order to raise the awareness at national level on the tourist offer and the possibilities that the young people can have in the area of tourism.
