BACKGROUND
Within this project, there will be a film whose goal is to collect all problems, fear and powerlessness of the citizens of the Municipality of Struga which have been accumulated through the years of living in an absurd and degradation of the society on all grounds, in a creative, artistic work.
With the experimental approach and strongly expressed irony through metaphors, this will be a response to the absurd that is offered as a cover of the real problems of the municipality.
GOALS AND RESULTS
Goal:
Via an experimental film the reality of the municipality will be presented, as the citizens of Struga are forced to live in an age of non-reasons and absurd decisions, almost always opposite to their interests and the wellbeing of the nature, culture and modern world. The citizens are encouraged to take active participation in the decision making that pertains them directly. At the same time, the film will engage the broader public, the ministries in charge, and because the Ohrid Lake and the lake shores are a unique eco system, the attention of the embassies should also be attracted.
Objectives:
- Using art to raise the suffocated voice of the citizen and show the social problems;
- Encouraging the citizens to raise their voice and become actively involved in resolving the problems via their testimonies and confessions used to create the script of the film;
- Attracting the attention of the ministries in charge for the degradation of an eco-system such as the Ohrid Lake and the town of Struga;
- Increasing the engagement of the foreign representatives in Struga and the Struga lake shores.
RESULTS
- 4 young film professionals from Struga engaged to make an experimental, professional and socially engaged film;
- Interviews with 40 citizens of various ages who will give their opinions on the reality and contribute to the development of the film script;
- Participation of 5 young people from Struga in all stages of production of the documentary;
- 3 creative posters for the film;
- Open public discussion with the participation of all interested citizens, experts and representatives of the institutions;
- Premiere and promotion of the film.
ACTIVITIES
- Documentary film production;
- Script development via interviews with 40 citizens of Struga;
- 5 young people from Struga, who have previously attended trainings on film will be part of the film crew and they will have the chance to work on a professional film;
- 3 young people from Struga, who have previously attended trainings for preparing creative posters, will work on film posters;
- Organizing a public discussion;
- Premiere and promotion of the film.
