Civica Mobilitas Thematic Forum: “Can we do more than grants?!” – Funding civil society organizations through donations, crowdfunding, and social enterprises

The event will take place on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at 12:00 PM at the Social Enterprise Center (Macedonia Street, next to the Mother Teresa Memorial House) in Skopje. If you cannot attend in person, you can follow the live stream on the official Civica Mobilitas Facebook page.

This essential topic for civil society organizations will explore practices, examples, and challenges in fund mobilization and how CSOs can achieve sustainability without relying solely on grants. Representatives from CSOs who have gone through various funding mobilization processes will share their experiences. Of course, it’s not all about the money; behind financial constraints are other issues that will be addressed at the Forum: a lack of true engagement in CSO activities, limited entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to try new approaches, and gaps in knowledge about tackling funding issues.

Representatives of Civica Mobilitas grantees sharing their experiences include Ljupcho Petkovski, Deputy President of Inno Hub – Skopje; Suzana Trajkovska Kočankovska, Social and Business Advisor for the Social Enterprise Support Project; and Viktor Mirchevski, Program Manager at KONEKT – Skopje.

The Civica Mobilitas Thematic Forum provides a space for discussion among representatives of civil society organizations, national and local institutions, and other key stakeholders involved in addressing these issues.

Civica Mobilitas is a civil society support program of the Swiss Embassy, implemented by NIRAS from Denmark, the Macedonian Center for International Cooperation (MCIC), and FCG from Sweden.
