On 16th of October, in the Great Hall in the Municipality of Prilep, LET Station, together with the National Democratic Institute North Macedonia, organized a Roundtable: “Encouraging Unity: Municipal Approaches to Interfaith Dialogue and Interethnic Co-existence”.

The event focused on advocacy for the creation of municipal measures and policies that will include aspects of interfaith dialogue and interethnic coexistence, and are intended to solve the problems and challenges of young people at the local level.

About 30 participants took part on the event – key stakeholders in the process of advocacy for the creation of inclusive local policies that promote interfaith co-existence and tolerance, such as: representatives of local civil society organizations, representatives of the Municipality of Prilep, youth activists and religious leaders. During the event, was emphasized the importance of active discussion on strengthening inter-religious and inter-ethnic cooperation and the implementation of these aspects in local youth policies. During the discussion, emphasis was also placed on the promotion of ways to build a more inclusive local youth council that would fully reflect the diversity of the community and how to improve cooperation between municipalities, civil society and organizations in the direction of creating youth-led policies and promotion of interfaith and interethnic tolerance.

🔑 Key message: Stronger cooperation between municipal administrations and civil society is vital for the promotion of inclusive and youth-oriented policies at the local level. Together, we are building bridges for a more united future!
