CONSTITUENTS

Constituents of the action are: journalists from various media from the country, CSO representatives, members of the National Council of Disability Organizations of Macedonia (NSIOM)< but also other CSOs that advocate for the rights of the people with disabilities and representatives of relevant government institutions that create and implement policies for promotion of the rights of the people with disabilities.

Partnership, advocacy and communication for efficient inclusion of the people with disabilities.

BACKGROUND

The action concerns the following topics: advocacy for the rights of the people with disabilities; improvement of the perception in the public when it comes to the rights of the people with disabilities and awareness raising; promotion of the knowledge and skills of the journalists when it comes to practicing inclusive journalism based on human rights; strengthening the cooperation among CSOs that advocate the rights of the people with disabilities, journalists and institutions in charge; efficient networking and improved communication among CSOs; stimulating civic engagement and civic participation in the area of protection of the rights of the people with disabilities.

GOALS AND RESULTS

Goal: Efficient advocacy for the rights of the people with disabilities in the public area.

Objective: Establishing an essential cooperation among CSOs that advocate for the rights of the people with disabilities, journalists and institutions in charge via networking, joint coordination and practicing journalism based on human rights.

RESULTS

  1. Increased communication and cooperation among CSOs that advocate for the rights of the people with disabilities, journalists and institutions in charge;
  2. Increased skills of the journalists to practice inclusive journalism based on human rights;
  3. Improved perception in the public on the rights of the people with disabilities to fully participate in the social, cultural and political and economic life of the community;
  4. Improved communication skills of CSOs that advocate for the rights of the people with disabilities.

ACTIVITIES

  1. Training to strengthen mechanisms for cooperation among the CSOs that advocate for the rights of the people with disabilities, journalists and institutions in charge;
  2. Training for inclusive journalism, for journalists and representatives of CSOs who advocate for the rights of the people with disabilities;
  3. Production of video stories on topics related to social inclusion of the people with disabilities;
  4. Preparation of a communication strategy and establishing efficient channels of digital communication for the needs of the National Council of Disability Organizations of Macedonia (NSIOM).
