Workshop for Lawyers

National Roma Centrum in partnership with Public Association from Skopje continues with the implementation of the project “Commbating discrimination against roma children” supported by the Delegation of the European Union. A lawyer’s workshop was organized on 19.05.2017 supported by the European Union’s programme “Europe for Citizens”.

The implementation of the project “Commbating discrimination against roma children” includes processing cases of discrimination and violation of basic rights and the rights of children which will be identified in the field in Roma communities.

Choosing the lawyers was done by a public application from which 3 lawyers were chosen to cover the region of Kumanovo, Kriva Palanka, Kocani, Stip, Prilep and Kicevo.

The purpose for organizing the workshop was:

-Promoting and getting to know the solicitors and the partner organization, general and specific aims, planned activities, project results and a short introduction of the tasks and obligations of the lawyers with a prepared power point presentation.

-Tasks and obligations of the solicitors, way of processing the cases which will be identified in the field and their further processing and communication with field facilitators and the project team.

-The information exchange and experience with discrimination and violation of basic rights and the rights of children.
