The Civic Resource Centre Facilitates the Overcoming of the Challenges of Local Organisations

“Local organisations in Tetovo face a series of challenges in their operations, especially with limited capacities for ensuring sustainability. Therefore, the services provided by the Civic Resource Centre are of great importance” – stated Sreten Koceski from the Community Development Institute, host of the meeting of the Civic Resource Centre (CRC) with the organisations in Tetovo.

This meeting, held on 9th May, is part of the visits of the Mobile Resource Centre and aims to inform and ensure availability of CRC services at the local level. 17 representatives of civil society organisations participated in the meeting.

Most of the attendees expressed interest in the online trainings, which are constantly available to them, especially the trainings for developing a project idea and writing project proposals. The organisations recognize the importance of networking and welcomed the creation of a database of active networks of civil society organisations that will be available on the CRC website.

Although some of the organisations were informed about the existence of the Council for Cooperation between the Government and Civil Society, however, there are more of those who are not informed about the work of the Council. There are few people who know that the CSOs that are members of the Council have been boycotting its work for a whole year. Organisations have expressed interest in being more familiar with the situation.

The events were organised within the project “EU support of the Civil Society Resource Centre – Phase 2”, financed by the European Union, and implemented by the National Civil Society Development Foundation – Civic Resource Centre, the Macedonian Centre for International Cooperation, Media Plus, Shtip and Association for Democratic Initiatives – ADI, Gostivar.
