Montenegro activities under Cyber Ready Balkans Project

Within the regional project Cyber Ready Balkans: A Guide for Youth into Cybersecurity, a set of important activities was implemented in Montenegro to improve young people’s understanding of cybersecurity education and career pathways.

The project developed the national platform cyber-ready.me, offering accessible information on cybersecurity roles, study options, certifications, and labour market trends. A practical Cyber Career Guide was also produced to support high school students and career advisors in exploring opportunities in the field.

As part of the outreach component, three high school visits were organized in Montenegro (Javna ustanova Srednja stručna škola Nikšić, Gimnazija Slobodan Škerović Podgorica and Gimnazija Stojan Cerović Nikšić), exceeding the initially planned scope. These sessions introduced students to cybersecurity concepts, professions, and educational pathways, while also confirming strong interest in the topic when presented in a simple and practical way.

The project also launched cooperation with private sector actors and training providers and supported further promotion of the platform through the network of the Savez Izviđača Crne Gore and a regional scouting gathering.

The experience in Montenegro demonstrated that young people are interested in cybersecurity, but need clearer and more accessible guidance at the stage when they begin making decisions about their future education and careers.
