Metamorphosis Participates in the EDRi General Assembly in Warsaw

Danche Danilovska Bajdevska, Program Director at Metamorphosis Foundation, participated in the annual General Assembly of the European Digital Rights network (EDRi), which took place in Warsaw, Poland, from 29 to 31 May 2026. The Assembly brought together digital rights organizations from across Europe to discuss pressing challenges shaping the future of digital rights, democracy, and technology governance.

Over two intensive days, participants engaged in strategic discussions on a broad range of topics, including advocacy in a changing political landscape, digital self-determination, artificial intelligence governance, online safety, strategic litigation, platform accountability, surveillance, community infrastructure resilience, and the role of digital rights organizations in safeguarding democracy and fundamental rights.

In addition to the network’s governance processes and elections, the General Assembly provided an important opportunity for collective learning, exchange of experiences, and strengthening cooperation among organizations working to ensure that technological development remains aligned with human rights principles and democratic values.

As a member of the EDRi network, Metamorphosis Foundation took part in the election of Andrej Petrovski as President of the EDRi Board. We congratulate Andrej on his appointment and look forward to his leadership in guiding the network through an increasingly complex digital policy environment.

For Metamorphosis Foundation, digital rights are a cornerstone of democratic participation in the digital age. They are closely linked to freedom of expression, privacy, access to information, civic engagement, media integrity, and the protection of human rights online. Through its participation in EDRi, Metamorphosis remains committed to contributing to a stronger European digital rights movement and to advancing these values in North Macedonia and throughout the region.
