First Eco-Action #GreenFriday: “Map of Eco-Concerns and Ideas”

On October 31, 2025, at Metodija Andonov Čento Square in Prilep, we held the first eco-action within the #GreenFriday initiative, titled “Map of Eco-Concerns and Ideas.”
The event took place from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM and aimed to foster civic awareness and active participation in improving the environment through a creative, visually engaging, and interactive approach.

At the center of the event, a large map of the city of Prilep was displayed, where citizens used colored stickers to mark their environmental observations and suggestions:

  • Red – locations with environmental problems (illegal dumps, pollution, destroyed green spaces)
  • Yellow – ideas and questions for improving the environment
  • Green – positive examples and locations to be preserved

Next to the map, a “Wall of Concerns and Ideas” was set up, where participants could write down their messages, proposals, and visions for a more sustainable community. Through these symbolic activities, citizens collectively created the first “citizens’ map of eco-concerns” in Prilep, visually representing the city’s environmental landscape through their eyes.

The action was attended by more than fifty citizens, including youth, parents, retirees, and local activists. During the two-hour activity, over 30 eco-concerns and ideas were collected, which will be carefully reviewed and summarized by the team of eco-ambassadors. In the coming months, these insights will be addressed through meetings with representatives of relevant local institutions and incorporated into upcoming #GreenFriday eco-actions.

A photo corner featuring the #GreenFriday board was also set up at the event, where citizens could take pictures with their messages and symbols of support for a cleaner and greener community.

With this first action, we have launched the tradition of monthly #GreenFridays – days dedicated to shared environmental awareness, responsibility, and solidarity.
See you at the next #GreenFriday at the end of November!

This activity is part of the project “Eco Initiative: Citizens and Local Authorities in Action for Environmental Protection!”, implemented by the Association STANICA PET within the sub-granting program of the project “Good Environmental Governance within the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans”, carried out by the Center for Legal Research and Analysis, the Macedonian Young Lawyers Association, and Front 21/42, and financially supported by the European Union.
