Educational workshops on dealing with gender-based violence

In order to raise awareness and strengthen knowledge about gender-based violence, in the past period we successfully conducted three educational and interactive workshops in Prilep, Krivogaštani and Dolneni, where around fifty young people and women from these areas participated. The period of holding the workshops coincided with the global campaign “16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence”, which reinforced the message of zero tolerance towards violence against women.

The workshops fostered a deeper understanding of the phenomenon of Gender-Based Violence and its various forms, which contributed to increased awareness of the consequences that violence has on individuals and the community. Through an interactive and participatory approach, participants were encouraged not only to gain knowledge, but also to develop an empathetic and active attitude towards supporting victims and preventing violence.

The workshops were rounded off with an encouraging message that each of us can contribute to creating a safer and more equal community – prevention begins with awareness, knowledge, and active engagement.

*This activity is part of the project “Together against violence: Improving community awareness and response”, implemented by the Association for Legal Education and Transparency Station PET Prilep, within the framework of the action “WE CARE: Together we fight against sexual and gender-based violence”, funded by the European Union and led by the National Network against Violence against Women and Domestic Violence.
