Cool Down. Elections are over

On 28 and 29 September, 2024 in Popova Kula, FRP gathered 12 MPs in their first mandate for a highly intensive two days seminar that guided the MPs through the secrets of the parliamentary debate, the art of compromise and specifically the benefits of a compromise, how to deal with their senior peers from other parliamentary groups and especially from their own political turf, the “analysis of power” in the parliament.

Key sessions included “Secrets of Parliamentary Corridors” with insights from former MP and professor Aleksandar Spasenovski and Gordan Georgiev, which focused on parliamentary coordination, power structures, and institutional roles.

The two-part session, “The Devil is in the Details: Understanding Legislative Procedure” led by former MPs Izet Zeqiri, former minister Vasko Naumovski, and former MP Igor Ivanovski, offered MPs an in-depth look at legislative nuances. The day closed with an informal discussion, “Everything I Wish I’d Known Earlier” hosted by author and P World founder Kosta Petrov.

On the second day, MPs engaged with journalists in “Awakening: Media and MPs” led by Semra Musai (Alsat TV), Bobi Hristov (Telma TV), and Dusica Mrdja (TV 24). This session covered building constructive media relationships and mastering public speaking techniques. The event also featured “In the Box” FRP’s unique activity, which provided MPs a rare chance for one-on-one exchanges with journalists, where they received tailored feedback and strategies to enhance their public communication skills.
