The elderly from Makedonska Kamenica living in the rural environments, i.e. the mountain villages of Sasa, Moshtica, Kosevica, Kostin Dol, Lukovica, Todorovci, Dulica and Cera.

DIGITALIZATION OF THE SOCIAL SERVICES FOR CARE OF ELDERLY AND FRAIL PERSONS IN THE RURAL ENVIRONMENTS

BACKGROUND

With the closure of Sasa mine in the last years a big number of the young people looking for existence have left their homes and went to look for jobs in the country and abroad, leaving their elderly parents to live alone. With the implementation of this project, the elderly and frail persons in the rural environments will be taken care of at any time.

With this project which is implemented at the territory of the municipality of Makedonska Kamenica for the first time, the work of the institutions will also be made easier.

GOALS AND RESULTS

Goal: Digitalization of the social services for care of the elderly and frail persons in the rural environments of the municipality of Makedonska Kamenica.

Objectives:

• Establishing a call service for providing the social conditions for care of the elderly and frail persons in the rural environments in the municipality of Makedonska Kamenica;
• Establishing a mobile team for fast reaction in providing care for the elderly and frail persons in the rural environments in the municipality of Makedonska Kamenica;
• Providing social services for elderly and frail persons in the rural environments in the municipality of Makedonska Kamenica;

RESULTS

1. Mapped elderly and frail persons in the rural environments in the municipality of Makedonska Kamenica;
2. Provided digital social services for 50 persons living in the rural areas of the municipality of Makedonska Kamenica;
3. Call centre for providing social services for care of elderly and frail persons in the rural environments in the municipality of Makedonska Kamenica;
4. Mobile teams for fast reaction to provide care of elderly and frail persons in the rural environments in the municipality of Makedonska Kamenica.

ACTIVITIES

1. Promotion of the start of the project in Makedonska Kamenica;
2. Preparation of social map and mapping the elderly and frail persons living in the rural environments in the municipality of Makedonska Kamenica;
3. Procurement of equipment;
4. Selection of 50 people to provide social services;
5. Preparation of legal documents and team for the call centre;
6. Organizing trainings for the call centre and mobile team;
7. Establishing a team to provide the social services for the care of the elderly and frail persons in the rural environments in the municipality of Makedonska Kamenica;
8. Promotion of social services for care of the elderly and frail persons in the rural environments;
9. Final event of the project implementation.
