MULTICULTURALISM AND RADICALISATION: Nee approaches to old problems
BACKGROUND
In an innovative and entertaining way introduce the young people with different cultural values (not only their own culture, but also other cultures) and by practicing skills, mutual respect and understating obtain knowledge about the multicultural character of our society.
GOALS AND RESULTS
Goal:
Strengthening the multiethnic relations and prevention from radicalization by creating a system of peer learning, using creative tools, analysis and campaigns.
Objectives:
- Strengthening the multiethnic relations and prevention from radicalization by creating a system of peer learning and using creative tools to address the problems and challenges of the young people in the community;
- Analysis of the situation at the sport fields and creating a basis for further work with the football fan groups as a foundation for prevention of violence on the field;
- Analysis of the consequences of COVID-19 on the interethnic relations with the young and ways of repairing the damages and informing the public about the findings;
- Creating a documentary material on the specific issues when it comes to implementing the activities that cover sensitive themes such as interethnic relations and radicalism among the young people.
RESULTS
MULTICULTURALISM Cycle
- 10 high school students aged 15-18 trained in the following areas: multiculturalism, using creative tools (photography, theatre, digital activism, graffiti, stencils, etc.), addressing the problem in the community and transferring their knowledge and experience to a new group of peers;
- Implemented community action via creative tools and addressed problem.
RADICALISIM PREVENTION Cycle
- Prepared training and mentorship program for young and radicalization that leads to violence;
- 10 high school students aged 15-18 trained in the following areas: radicalization and using creative tools (photography, theatre, digital activism, graffiti, stencils, etc.);
- Workshop on creative tools;
- A community action implemented via creative tools and addressed problems;
- A research implemented to identify the factors that influence the violence in the sport fields;
- A research conducted on the consequences of COVID crisis on the interethnic relations:
- Prepared documentary video material on the process of implementing the project and results of the activities.
