COUNCIL FOR PREVENTION FROM MINORS’ DELINQUENCY, KAVADARCI

SHORT DESCRIPTION OF THE ORGANIZATION

The Council for Prevention from Minors’ Delinquency (SPPMD) is a CSO with voluntary membership of citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia.

The motive for such an organization is first of all the unique idea to fight against children’s delinquency and creation of a fully new codified punitive justice system for the children.

The vision is – powerful and stable organization, a mover and partner to institutions in the efforts to establish wellbeing for the children in the Republic of North Macedonia, as well as non-discrimination, protection from all kinds of violence, respect of children’s rights in all procedures before the institutions especially centers for social work (CSR), police, prosecution and courts, and in the direction of the efforts that RNM is elevated as a country where there will be full respect for human rights and freedoms, with a special stress on the standards for justice for children, as an elementary condition for integration in the European Union; participation of the young in the adoption of decisions significant for them.

The mission for creating strong legal regulation, by adopting a Law for Justice for Children, its upgrading, implementation, monitoring, evaluation of the law, adoption of procedures for treating the children who are victims of violence, as obligatory instructions to the police, prosecution and courts, adoption of indicators for following the efficiency of the laws for justice to children, huge number of trainings for people who work in the system of justice for the children define the recognizable face of the organization, which is at a high level as the only specialised organization which conducts professional trainings for the persons in charge of implementing the laws in the part for justice for children, i.e. the persons who work in the system for justice for children.

CONSTITUENTS

SPPMD constituents are first of all its members and the institutions CSR, police, prosecution and courts of the entire RNM, which accept the mission and vision of SPPMD and they work together on establishing short term and long-term goals of SPPMD via joint or individual projects.

Further on, the SPPMD team, together with MO, collaborators, educators, partners and engaged experts are people who come from the civil sector and are distinguished PhDs, lawyers, judges, attorneys, politicologists and IT professionals, and they jointly participate in the implementation of the activities of the organization and in the planning of the next activities.

Constituents are also the partnership organizations in and out of the country, with which SPPMD cooperates, such as external collaborators, court bodies, judges, prosecutors, as well as the legislative and government bodies.

RESULTS

  • Strengthened capacities of the SPPMD office for research, processing, analyzing and advocacy;
  • Strengthened participation and involvement of members in the work of SPPMD.
