BCSDN Welcomes Anja Bosilkova Antovska as Its New Executive Director

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Anja Bosilkova Antovska as its new Executive Director, marking an important step in the Network’s continued development and commitment to strengthening civil society across the Western Balkans and Türkiye.

Having previously served as BCSDN’s Head of Policy and Advocacy and, most recently, as Acting Executive Director, Anja brings extensive experience in civil society development, regional cooperation, and policy advocacy, alongside a deep understanding of the Network’s mission and strategic priorities.

Throughout her work at BCSDN, Anja has played a leading role in advancing the Network’s policy and advocacy agenda, strengthening engagement with European institutions and international partners, and bringing civil society perspectives from the region into European policy discussions. Her contributions have helped strengthen BCSDN’s policy influence, particularly in advocating for an enabling environment for civil society, meaningful participation in decision-making, and more effective donor policies.

Equally important has been her close collaboration with BCSDN members and the Executive Office team, fostering cooperation, shared ownership, and a collective approach to advancing the Network’s priorities. Her appointment builds on these established relationships and a shared commitment to BCSDN’s mission.

At a time of growing pressures on civic space and shifting political and funding priorities, Anja will lead BCSDN in further strengthening its collective voice, regional cooperation, and influence in shaping policies that affect civil society.

We warmly congratulate Anja on her appointment and look forward to this new chapter under her leadership.
