Heritage Meets Innovation: The Story of Caravan Via Egnatia

The board game “Caravan Via Egnatia” is an innovative tool that brought history to life for students and teachers alike. Through this unique game, participants explore the rich cultural legacy of the ancient Via Egnatia while engaging in teamwork, problem-solving, and creative learning.

The game enables students to experience the challenges and excitement of 19th-century travel, while at the same time strengthening essential skills in teamwork, cooperation, and decision-making. The activity turns history into an interactive journey, allowing young learners not only to understand the past but also to practice cooperation and decision-making in a fun and meaningful way.

This initiative was carried out within the framework of the project Via Egnatia – A Wonderful Way to Play, supported by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. It marked a significant step in showing how cultural heritage and playful learning can go hand in hand to create meaningful educational experiences for young generations.
