A BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SELECTED SPECIFIC TOPIC
The project idea is an attempt to pilot and introduce green social work and social transformation as holistic perspectives that strive to support people’s well-being in overcoming existing climate changes and maintaining a healthy environment. The activities are based on the advocacy and implementation of the concept of the right to a healthy environment for all, through green social work and the need for social transformation to deal with and be resilient to these changes.
OBJECTIVES AND RESULTS
Overall Objective: Introduction of the ecological so-called the “green” perspective in professional social and youth work, as one of the key perspectives for environmental protection, but also for building an inclusive and democratic society for all.
Specific Objective:
- Introducing the concept of green (eco-) social work and strengthening the capacities of social workers, social service providers and youth workers in youth centers to implement integrative, green programs for their users, to raise public awareness and responsibility for environmental protection .
- Creating conditions for green partnership action between representatives from the civil sector, local self-government and the private sector for recommendations and positive examples for environmental protection through an inclusive and democratic process;
- Increasing and strengthening the social inclusion of people with disabilities and young people with fewer opportunities in dealing with environmental protection. SC 2 – Introducing the concept of green (eco-) social work as part of the program for the licensing of professionals in the social protection system.
RESULTS
- Prepared national report with results, conclusions, recommendations, but also mapped needs at the local level for environmental protection.
- Prepared functional online platform to support environmental protection.
- Introduced concept of green social work as part of the program for the licensing of professionals in the social work system.
- Introduced concept of green youth work as part of the operation of youth centers
- Trained a total of 60 professional and youth workers from all eight planning regions at the national level to implement local initiatives in order to mobilize the community and protect the environment.
- Implemented 30 initiatives at the local level in all 8 planning regions with the aim of environmental protection.
- Improved cooperation through the partnership action between 60 representatives from the civil sector, local government and the private sector from all eight planning regions for recommendations and positive examples in dealing with climate change and the environment through an inclusive and democratic process.
- Increased awareness of all stakeholders, including decision makers for the formal inclusion of the eco (green) perspective in social protection and youth activism as an important factor for environmental sustainability and dealing with climate change.
- Increased social inclusion of people with disabilities and young people with fewer opportunities through inclusion in local workshops on the topic of environmental protection
