BACKGROUND

This law stipulates that the people who are not registered in the birth registry should be recorded in the separate birth registry in order to obtain a birth certificate in the separate birth registry, as well as identification papers.

In the Republic of North Macedonia, there have been 750 people of different age and gender, without birth registry certificates. These people have been excluded from the society, stigmatized, uneducated and they all have the need of assistance in the establishment of their rights provided by this law.

The project initiates field action of activities of CSOs working on issues related to the rights of the Roma to be helped in becoming registered based on the Law on Non-registered Persons in the Birth Registry.
