ON THE PROJECT SUPPORTED BY CIVICA MOBILITAS

INTERPRETING JOINT HISTORY IN THE MODERN TIMES

BACKGROUND

The subject History is not included in the strategic priorities of the institutions when it comes to interethnic integration. The curriculum for the subject history has also not been changed since 2005, which is not the case with the other subjects. This curriculum in itself promotes ethnic division, it is binational and this approach is reflected in the history lesson books and thus also in the teaching, although RN Macedonia declares itself as a multiethnic country. Another problem is the lack of training for the teachers on subjects like this.
