CONSTITUENTS

Constituents of the association “Centre for Climate Changes” are CSOs which work in the area of environment, sustainable development, energy and agriculture.

The Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning with the public bodies within their organization (Directorate for Environment and State Inspectorate for Environment).

Other public bodies which have competencies in the area od environment and climate changes.

CIVIL PLATFORM FOR FOLLOWINGTHE NEGOTATIONS WITH THE EU ON CHAPTER 27

BACKGROUND

The project activities will contribute to providing participation of the civil society in the creation and decision making that pertains to the process of negotiation for joining the European Union, i.e. Chapter 27 – Environment and Climate Changes.

GOALS AND RESULTS

Goal: Strengthening the role of the CSOS in the area of environment in the process of approximation and preparation for negotiations with the EU on Chapter 27.

Objective: Strengthening the capacities of CSOs for approximation to the EU via stimulating the cooperation among the CSOs to formulate and communicate joint views on the environment and raising the awareness with the broader public.

RESULTS

  1. Strengthened capacities for the Macedonian CSOs to follow the negotiations with EU on Chapter 27;
  2. Increased awareness of CSOs on the importance of undertaking an active role in the negotiations with the EU;
  3. Increased awareness of the broader public on the benefits of EU accessions;
  4. Increased cooperation among CSOs and relevant authorities for communicating joint views on issues in the area of environment.

ACTIVITIES

  1. An informative meeting for the start of the project;
  2. Seminars for capacity building of the CSOs;
  3. Call for establishing a national network of CSOs;
  4. Manual for following the negotiations with the EU on Chapter 27;
  5. A workshop on establishing a national network of CSOs;
  6. Meetings with bodies in charge;
  7. Preparation of a communication strategy;
  8. Preparation of a draft report;
  9. Publishing the report on the position of CSOs;
  10. Developing a web page on the project;
  11. Official presentation of the report;
  12. Preparation of a press release.
