ON THE PROJECT SUPPORTED BY CIVICA MOBILITAS
PUBLIC POLICY CENTER
BACKGROUND
In the last 2 years we have witnessed significant increase of transparency and accessibility of data of the state institutions at central and local level. This situation provides better possibilities for research and analysis of the CSOs which first of all work on public policy and advocacy. On the other hand, we can see that the capacities of a big number of local organizations are very limited and thus the quality of research and contribution to public policies are not at good level.
Seeing the lack of capacities on one hand and the increased possibilities for analysing open data and the new possibilities for advocacy on the other hand, ZMAI team believes that the establishing mechanisms for increasing the research capacities of CSOs, especially those that work in local environments is one of the key initiatives in encouraging CSOs to be a serious partner in the process of public policy creation. At the same time by implementing this project, the local CSOs which represent the local communities and stakeholders will strengthen their cores and build sustainable partnership relations with the authorities.
