12 ACTION GRANTEES OF CIVICA MOBILITAS SELECTED

The Grant Selection Committee has assessed the applications of the organisations that submitted applications to the first call for action grants in the new phase of Civica Mobilitas (PCM-AKT-04).

 

The action grants were awarded to 12 organizations:

Institute for Social Sciences and Humanities Skopje

Citizen Association Media Plus Shtip

Association Centre for Sustainable Community Development Debar

Association for Democratic Initiative Gostivar

Association for Research, Analyses and Development “Zelena Lupa” Skopje

Association of Social Workers of the City of Skopje Skopje

Women’s Civil Initiative “Antiko” Skopje

Platform for Investigative Journalism and Analyses – PINA Skopje

Citizen Association for Research, Analyses and Public Policy Development “Evrothink” – Centre for European Strategies – Skopje

Association HOPS – Healthy Life Options Skopje

The new grantees are active in eight different sectors, mostly in the sectors of health and health care and democracy, but also in the sectors of information and communication, people with special needs, environment, human rights, rule of law and gender issues.

Half of the grantees are active at the national level, two at the local/municipal level, two regions in the country, and one is active regionally at Balkan and European level. The grantees come from five regions, most of them are from the Skopje region, then the eastern, north-east, south-west and Polog regions. With respect to their experience, eight of them have been active from 12-20 years, two have 7-11 year-long experience, and two have an experience between 2-3 years.

There were 133 applications submitted at the action grant call open on 25 March 2019; 113 of them passed the administrative requirements and eligibility. Most of the applicants were from the Skopje region (61%), then the Polog region (10%), eastern (9%), Pelagonija (7%), north-east (6%), Vardar (4%), south-east (3%) and the south-west region (15). The proposed actions mostly concerned the development of the civil society (18%) and good governance (10%) and there were two applications on tolerance and anti-corruption respectively.
