Background for the Action

The accession to the European Union is a strategic goal for R. North Macedonia, and the country is already preparing for the start of the negotiations. The accession process itself will be long, complex and comprehensive, and it will be necessary to include various stakeholders in the society (representatives of the institutions, CSOs, media, etc.) as direct participants, monitors of the processes, advocacy groups, etc. The role of the CSOs and media that should monitor and pressure the government on transparent, responsible and inclusive negotiating process is especially important. At the same time, it is necessary that the CSOs and media are trained in better using g the EU accession process to influence an essential improvement of the situation in the areas in which they work.

GOALS AND RESULTS

Goal: To contribute to bigger, more representative and more essential involvement of the civil society and its organizations in the EU accession process.

Objective: To increase the information and understanding of the civil society on the EU accession process by its promotion and demystification.

Results

  • Created comprehensive digital tool on education, monitoring and sharing of knowledge and information related to the accession process;
  • Improved capacities of the CSOs, journalists, decision makers and youth on understanding the accession process and its benefits;
  • Created on-line resources for learning and acquainting with the process of RNM accession to EU.

Activities

  1. Stock-taking, collection, processing of information;
  2. Preparing a digital solution in close cooperation with contractors;
  3. Uploading the digital solution;
  4. Promotional event for the tool;
  5. Final event;
  6. Organization/conducting at least 12 educational and/or informative events directed to four target groups (NGOs, decision makers, journalists and youth);
  7. Preparation and publishing of at least 50 educational and/or informative articles directed to demythologizing the country’s accession to EU;
  8. Video info graphic production;
  9. Digital story production;
  10. Other multimedia contents production.
