Social marketing workshop

The use of social marketing for the purposes of civil society organizations was the main idea of the introductory workshop on this topic, held on 20 and 21 April 2016 in Skopje. About twenty representatives of the grantees of Civica Mobilitas participated at the workshop, and it was conducted by Simon Forester, an international expert of the program.

The participants were introduced to the social marketing concept and social marketing strategies, shared their experiences and had an opportunity to hear about the experiences of the others in this area. In smaller groups, they worked on social marketing plan development. The focus was placed on the formulation of strategic goals on the basis of which the whole plan was further developed.

They developed plans, for mobilization of active volunteers to be engaged in the work of the organization; for fund raising for a program dedicated to psycho-social support for women with breast cancer; for organic food branding; for employers’ awareness raising for employment of disabled persons, etc.

“Our intention was for you to start thinking in this way about some of your activities”, Forester said. “This is an opportunity for you to be together in one place, to share your knowledge and experiences, and then, if you wish, to continue developing joint ideas.”

The participants have expressed their satisfaction about the workshop contents. In the concept, they have recognized part of their past activities, and later, through practical work, they applied part of the things they have discussed about.
