ENABLING ENVIRONMENT IN THE FOCUS OF the NEW ISSUE OF “CITIZENS FOR CHANGE”

Civica Mobilitas has published the twelfth issue of “Citizens for Change” newsletter which focuses on enabling environment. In this issue, we use seventeen stories to tell stories about successful actions, initiatives, projects of the civil sector in the first quarter of 2022.

The civil sector has received its fourth in a row strategic document, Strategy for Cooperation with and Development of the Civil Society, for the period of 2022-2024. Those who follow these processes more closely and are involved in them say that unlike the previous document, this one has an improvement in defining the success indicators. CSOs asked and the Government agreed that they would work on improving the system of state funding, as one of the strategic goals. For the time being, there have been no results on this promise. When it comes to financing, find out about eCrowd.mk, the first CSO crowd funding platform in Macedonia, created by Innohub.

We also wrote about our colleagues from Finance Think who made the analysis of the 2020-2024 Government Work Program and revealed to what extent the Government had fulfilled its economic promises. The Center for Civic Communication (CCC) indicates that during the two crisis years, the state institutions bought 142 new vehicles, for which they paid 3.6 million Euro.

We have celebrated the perseverance of woman and her fight via the March for Women’s Rights on the occasion of 8th March, the International Women’s Day, organized by the Platform for Gender Equality and Women Rights Activists. We have supported the first protest march of single parents organized by One Can!

CSOs have worked on improving citizen participation. Examples were the Centre for Environment and Sustainable Development from Bogdanci that worked on better communication of the Municipality of Bogdanci and the citizens with the “We Report” app, as well as the Association for Support, Integration and Resocialization LINK which has detected, advised and guided the people at social risk in the municipalities of Butel and Chucher Sandevo.

The latest issue of the newsletter can be read in Macedonian, Albanian and English.

“Citizens for Change” is a newsletter for the civil society and of the civil society. Be part of it, send us information about your activities and results.
