Bowling for cooperation – The “Youth policies tailored to youth” project begins
Young people from the Pelagonia region “challenged” politicians to a bowling match! In a dynamic and motivating game, with the result uncertain until the last throws, youth mingled with mayors and councillors from the nine Pelagonian municipalities to discuss how to create and implement youth policies that meet their needs.

Over the next three years, Pro Lokal, together with eight other local organisations, will work on practically involving young people in municipal governance. The project will explore collaboration opportunities that are attractive to young people and align with their needs in the places where they live. It will also investigate whether these opportunities can be incorporated into the Youth Law. The project will test mechanisms for pooling local resources to collectively address youth challenges in the Pelagonia region.

The Mayor of Bitola, Toni Konjanovski, welcomed the young participants on behalf of the politicians and emphasised that adults can learn from the youth. He expressed hope that by the end of the project, everyone could proudly present the new youth policies tailored to young people, which will be implemented to bring real change to local communities.

The project is supported by the Swiss government through Civica mobilitas.
