Project partners begin mapping needs and developing an inclusive training programme

As part of the regional project “Persons with Disabilities Growing Organic Medicinal Herbs,” the project partners have started implementing Activity A2 – Mapping Needs and Preparing a Training Programme for Organic Herb Cultivation.

This activity brings together the three partner organisations from North Macedonia, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina to identify the needs, interests, existing knowledge and capacities of persons with disabilities who will participate in the project activities.

The needs mapping process will help the partners better understand the specific support required by the participants and identify the most appropriate approaches for their active involvement in the organic cultivation of medicinal and aromatic herbs.

Based on the information collected and the exchange of experiences among the partners, a joint training programme will be developed. The programme will combine theoretical knowledge with practical learning and will cover key topics related to the cultivation of medicinal and aromatic herbs, including soil preparation, planting, maintenance, harvesting, drying, storage and basic processing.

Particular attention will be paid to ensuring that the training methodology is inclusive and adapted to the different abilities and needs of persons with disabilities. The training programme will promote a practical approach, enabling participants to actively engage in different stages of herb cultivation and production.

Through this activity, the project partners are laying the foundations for the upcoming capacity-building and practical exchange activities. The jointly developed programme will also contribute to the project’s long-term goal of creating a replicable model of inclusive organic herb production that can be applied in different communities across the Western Balkans.

The activity represents an important example of regional knowledge sharing and cooperation, as the partners jointly develop approaches that combine the inclusion of persons with disabilities, sustainable agriculture and green livelihood opportunities.
