Info Sessions for the new Civica mobilitas grant call conclude

From 5th to 20th March 2024, the Civica Mobilitas team traveled over 2,000 kilometers, visiting eight planning regions and holding nine info sessions focused on the call for Grants for Civic Engagement. More than 130 representatives from civil society organisations participated in these sessions held in Kriva Palanka, Štip, Strumica, Gostivar, Veles, Struga, Bitola, and Skopje.

A significant part of the sessions was dedicated to participants’ questions. In addition to clarifying some of the criteria for submitting applications and the proper way to complete mandatory documents, the meetings also provided an opportunity to share experiences from previous partnerships, discuss pressing issues faced by organisations in the regions, and explore initial project ideas.

According to Risto Kamov, a member of the organisation Changemakers and SWAM from Gevgelija, this approach, which enables long-term collaboration between regional organisations, is very beneficial. “So far, we’ve had experience working together on actions, but we’ve never had the opportunity to collaborate on a long-term project. I think it’s a great chance to unite our efforts and achieve more,” he said.

Participants expressed satisfaction with the fact that the info sessions were held in each region, making it easier for them to attend, network, and discuss important issues related to civic engagement in their specific region.

Regarding the required application documents, there was interest in the Cedrig light appendix, which assesses the potential environmental impact of projects. Those who had previously encountered this tool mentioned that not addressing these risks can prolong project activities.

For those who could not attend the info sessions, questions can still be submitted in writing to: helpdesk@civicamobilitas.mk by 2nd April 2024, no later than 13:00.

All info sessions were held in public spaces. Special thanks to our colleagues from the offices of Europe House in Kriva Palanka, Veles, and Strumica, American Corner in Struga, Youth Hub in Bitola, and the Civic Resource Centre in Štip, Gostivar, and Skopje for hosting and providing their spaces.
