Let’s Learn About Climate Change!!!

ACTION DESCRIPTION

Climate change is a result of human activity, and its consequences have a significant negative impact on people, the economy, and nature. Involving youth, as the most affected population, in decision-making, supporting them, and encouraging activism on this issue is critical for raising awareness and ensuring long-term sustainable solutions. Measures directed at this target group have the potential to mitigate the impacts of climate change for a large portion of the population. They will develop skills among a significant segment of the population, which will be used over the long term. Children are one of the most vulnerable groups to the effects of climate change. Young people should be given a systematic approach in decision-making processes and opportunities to share power with adults to create institutional influence and responses to climate change. The southwestern region, where the activities of this project will be implemented, is a tourist region where the problems of climate change directly affect the development of tourism and the region as a whole. Therefore, by involving youth in decision-making, supporting them, and encouraging activism on this issue, we will contribute to raising citizens’ awareness across the region.

AIMS AND OUTCOMES

General goal: To contribute to reducing the harmful impacts of climate change on the environment and people by supporting a child- and youth-focused approach.

Specific goal: To increase the active participation of young people as responsible citizens in addressing the challenges posed by climate change and its impact on the environment and humanity.

OUTCOMES

  • Increased awareness among children and youth regarding the significance of climate change and its effects on nature, human life, and the environment through educational and informative campaigns, workshops, and interactive learning.
  • Enhanced capacities of young people for active participation in planning and decision-making processes at the local level related to climate change and environmental protection.
  • Resources, knowledge, and support provided for the implementation of local youth-led activities that contribute to reducing harmful impacts on the environment.

ACTIVITIES
