Her voice – her Power: Empowering marginalised women and girls in Pelagonia
ACTION DESCRIPTION
Gender equality, especially in the Roma community, rural, and multi-ethnic areas, presents an urgent challenge that requires active intervention. The proposed solutions aim to promote gender equality by fostering inclusivity, fairness, and social justice in all spheres of society. Achieving this goal requires a comprehensive approach, starting with changing social awareness and widely accepted values at both community and individual levels. These initiatives are designed to reshape the daily habits of the regional population, addressing harmful behaviours that perpetuate violence, inequality, and poor health outcomes. This issue is of immense significance for the region, particularly for rural municipalities that are often neglected by institutions, where residents face barriers to accessing essential services or avoid regular gynaecological visits due to fear of stigma.
