A BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SELECTED SPECIFIC TOPIC

The action is aimed at strengthening social cohesion by encouraging active participation of young people in the community, strengthening youth initiatives, and creating space for cooperation between young people, youth organisations, and local communities. The project combines educational, field, and communication activities with the aim of improving mutual understanding, increasing inclusion, and building trust among different social groups.

OBJECTIVES AND RESULTS

Overall objective:
To promote systemic change in the way state institutions, local self-governments, and civil society address crisis situations, through establishing a national model that strengthens resilience, solidarity, and active youth participation in prevention, response, and recovery of communities.

Specific objectives:

• To develop and institutionalise a national model for youth crisis management, based on partnership between youth centres, civil society, and relevant institutions
• To strengthen the knowledge and capacities of youth centres and civil society organisations for prevention, rapid response, and psychosocial support in crisis situations
• To promote a culture of solidarity, prevention, and active youth participation through public campaigns, dialogue, and advocacy

RESULTS

• Established national model and protocol for youth crisis management
• Strengthened capacities of youth centres and civil society organisations for action in crisis situations
• Increased public awareness and youth participation in promoting a culture of solidarity and prevention

ACTIVITIES

• Analysis and research of the current situation of youth centres and the civil society sector
• Establishment of an expert group for preparation of a draft National Protocol
• Testing the draft version of the Protocol through simulation
• Finalisation of the National Protocol based on simulation results
• Advocacy and lobbying meetings for adoption of the Protocol
• Preparation of a capacity-building manual
• Organisation of certified trainings in five cities
• National simulation of a crisis situation
• Public campaign “#CONNECTEDINCRISIS”
• Final national event – conference
